Christmas celebration at NITSAN with Mother Nature
25 Dec 2022
Unlike the traditional Christmas Celebration around the Christmas Tree and Secret Santa, we at NITSAN had something incredible in mind. We visited Khadsaliya village to be close to Mother Nature this Holiday season.
Sounds exciting! Right? We were ecstatic, too. Instead of spending our time with the usual city chaos and parties, the idea of being around greenery and the fresh air of the village is something we all agree to.
Before Reaching Khadsaliya
Here is a short glimpse of everything we did on our short trip.
The day started early, at 7 AM, at Khadsaliya. We packed our bags and were off to the village in our vehicles. Along the way, we enjoyed mother nature, the beautiful sunrise, and the picturesque beauty of everything around us. We did stop for breakfast, and everyone had a wonderful time away from our busy schedules and life back in town. Finally, we reached our destination by 9 AM and entered Khadsaliya, which is 28 km from Bhavnagar.
We were struck by the hospitality and warm welcome bestowed by the people. Village life is far from anything we have seen or experienced in an urban area or town. However, everyone was in awe of village life's simplicity and contentment.
We could feel the fresh air around us due to minimal pollution and even experience the sun's warmth. We drove off to explore the village and nature without wasting any more seconds. We came across cattle, other local animals, forests, and farming fields. Moreover, the villagers welcomed us to their farms and crop fields, where we saw Chikku, Cotton Farms, etc. We were inspired by the life these villagers lived with utmost simplicity and away from any materialistic possession. After spending the morning learning about village life, we headed to the beach to play sports such as volleyball, a man in the middle, and cricket and enjoy the water. We even had fresh village fruits such as Chikku from the villagers.
Furthermore, it was indeed an eye-opening experience to understand the hard work behind farming and all the practices that go into it. After speaking to the farmers, we learn a lot about their daily routine and hardships, from early morning to late at night. They have everything to look after, from caring for the crops to the farm animals.
Ending our Christmas Trip
To end our Christmas trip, we celebrated a "secret Santa" gift exchange to make everyone feel special during the holiday. We had already been randomly assigned an individual or colleague from our team to buy a present within a specified budget. Hence, we packed our gifts and took them with us on our trip. It was a unique experience for everyone since many of us had never done this before. Lastly, we were all mildly tired, so we had our lunch. The food had an authentic Kadhiyawadi menu that gave us the essence of village taste and lifestyle. We then took off from the village and reached our destination by 3 PM, the end of our trip.
P.S.- We captured the memories and clicked hundreds of pictures of the trip to remember the fun and relaxing office trip.
